My challenge is re-set for post the 2011 Transat 650 finish. From there, I will contest whatever the current reference mark is should someone challenge (there is currently an Italian challenger for the summer 2010.).

To facilitate event growth, the start may be taken from 'any' global seaport unless a fleet of two or more boats agree upon a pre-designated starting venue.
Hence one boat my undertake the start in a virtual race from the port & time of their choosing so long as they utilize an 'Iritrack' event tracking unit to calculate the vessel's average speed upon completion of the circumnavigation.
Thus victory and reference time for the circumnavigation race will then be established. (Time in port will be deducted from the reference average speed at sea.)
If another mini later challenges they must exceed the record-holder's average time of the same distance to win otherwise a 2nd Race 650 win is awarded to the record-holder for each challenge unsuccessful in reducing the current record-mark.
This format remains until two or more boats race against each other from the same starting and finishing point - in which case the reference record time will be reset to reflect the race time of the multiple boat fleet winner.
The reference time will then remain the target for a 'lone' challenge attempt until another multi-boat contest is once more agreed upon.
Therefore, I commit a challenge to minis to race on April 1st 2010 from Hawaii to Hawaii. My designated platform is the 2005 Transat 650 winning Samuel Manuard designed #433.

We are delaying The Race 650 until possibly 2010 or '11 as the potential entrants have chosen another Transat 650 while some others have financing problems.
While it is unfortunate to forsake the optimal course versus another few seasons potentially similar to last year's rough weather in the Bay of Biscay- we are resolute and confident a start for The Race 650 will come in the not distant future. We will see you there...
